Drift Station Biology: Zooplankton Taxonomy and Sorting Programs

Abstract

The taxonomic studies of the USC Arctic Project are briefly summarized. This report includes a description of the practical taxonomic guides, the sorting program and studies which were derived from the sorting program. This work has two main objectives, first the identification of Arctic zooplankton, and second a more detailed study of the biology of some of the organisms, to form the basis for biochemical and physiological investigations. The report also includes a list of stations and of the organisms identified.
