Abstract

The book will acquaint the reader with the working processes in gas turbines, methods of thermodynamic and gas dynamic calculation of turbines in nominal and variable modes, the system for cooling the hot portions of the turbine and its calculation, various structures, and strength calculations for the principal parts of the turbine. In addition the book gives a brief survey of designs of gas turbines. This book is a textbook for students at Aviation Technical Institutions of Higher Learning. It may also be useful to gas-turbine designers. (Author)
