Receiver Noise Due to R/V Plasma Sheath Turbulence

Abstract

The report calculates the noise scattered into a receiving antenna system by the turbulent plasma surrounding a reentry vehicle. Sample calculations indicate that turbulent noise should be considered in the systems design of any on-board radar system.
