Interference Effects in Digital Matched Filters

Abstract

The report contains a summary of some of the more important theoretical results related to the performance of a digital matched filter receiver designed to receive a biphase modulated signal in the presence of interference. Both the synchronization and data performance of the receiver are evaluated when the signal is received in the presence of (a) Gaussian noise, (b) Random phase sinusoidal interference, (c) Fixed phase sinusoidal interference. Specific attention is paid to the effect of processing the received signal using one bit quantization.
