A study was conducted to determine the feasibility of training dogs to search for and detect the odors of nitroglycerin dynamite, TNT, C-3 C-4, a mixture of 96% ammonium nitrate fertilizer and 4% JP4 fuel oil, Smokeless powder as contained in exploded cartridges, and heroin (pure and cut 50%). Three dogs, one male German Shepherd, one female Labrador Retriever, and one male Standard Poodle completed the training program.
