Digital Picture Processing: Models.
Abstract
The report is the near-final version of Chapter 13 of a forthcoming book on digital picture processing. It covers descriptions of, and models for, pictures and scenes in terms of objects or regions; objects in terms of vertices and arcs; arcs in terms of chain codes, and regions in terms of 'pieces'. Limitations of such models are discussed. Formal models (grammars, automata) are not treated. (Author)
