Square Wave VOR Tests.

Abstract

Airborne and laboratory tests were performed on the 5X Square Wave VOR. Modification of both the ground facility and airborne receiver was necessary for an improvement in flyability due to suppression of reflected VOR signals. Compatibility flight tests were made using both modified and unmodified receivers on four-loop and SVOR facilities. Laboratory tests were performed on 12 different unmodified receivers to determine their response to sine and square wave modulation inputs. (Author)
