Arctic Site Survey, Part 1

Abstract

The principal objectives of this work are: to investigate ray theory normal mode or any newly-developed method by comparing the computed results with field measured data for predicting underwater sound propagation loss in the Arctic, and to apply appropriate techniques to evaluate acoustic intensity and transmission loss at promising locations from a number of sound sources in the Arctic. Topics discussed in the report include the following: Theoretical developments; The Arctic Ocean environment for under water acoustics studies; Application of ray acoustics in the Arctic; Computed results and plots.
