Advanced, Small, High-Temperature Rise Combustor Program.

Abstract

The report is a semi-annual progress report of an analytical and experimental study addressed to the problems associated with advanced, small, high temperature-rise combustors. This report summarizes work conducted during the period of April 1, 1972, to September 30, 1972. The program, initiated in June 1970, is divided into three phases, as follows: Phase I - element analysis, Phase II - conceptual design, element testing, design evaluation, and concept selection, and Phase III - combustor final design, fabrication, and testing. The report summarizes the activities during the six-month period from April 1, 1972 to September 30, 1972, during which time Phase II activities were completed and the Phase III test plan and test equipment were defined.
