Abstract
The Second General Conference of the European Physical Society took place in Wiesbaden, Germany, from 3 to 6 October 1972. The theme of the Conference was announced as 'Trends in Physics,' but very prominent among the discussions was the relationship between Physics and Society. The program consisted of nine plenary sessions which are reported in detail in the following pages, and fifteen divisional sessions - always five in parallel - distributed over three afternoons, at which subjects more limited in scope were presented.
