Investigation of Mass Placement of Sand Asphalt for Underwater Protection of River Banks

Abstract

The general objective was to determine those properties of the asphalt mixture dropped in a mass under water which will give the best coverage, considering spread, thickness, strength or resistance to disintegration, deformability in conforming and reforming as the river bed scours, to river-bed irregularities, velocity of the water, depth of placement, and economy of placement.
