Isolation of Piping from Pump Vibrations,

Abstract

When piping is connected to pumping systems, unwanted vibration and/or noise can be transmitted from the pump to the piping and ultimately to an observer in a working or living space as noise. The low frequency vibration induced in piping can be large and can cause damage and pipe failure. The objective of the report was to provide guidelines for effective selection and installation of flexible pipe connectors or resilient pipe hangers in an effort to minimize or eliminate this problem.
