The purpose of this investigation was to define a set of features capable of performing discrimination. The work represented by the report addresses three problem areas. Volumes 2 and 3 involve the extraction and definition of patterns for the eventual design of a logic. This logic will provide the capability of discriminating target classes within data collected from acoustic and magnetic sensors respectively. In each case, a small data base was used to define a preliminary logic. (Author)
