Local Civil Defense Directors in Action: Preparedness for Disasters.

Abstract

The report is the second of a five-part series which presents the initial questions and responses of a national sample of local civil defense director/coordinators to items related to local preparations for disasters. The report presents with the use of simple descriptive statistics (frequency, mean, mode, std. dev., etc.) content areas which include the preparation, results and perceived usefulness of Local Contingency Planning, Emergency Operating Centers and Emergency Operations Simulations. A second part of the report presents responses to a series of questions concerning the uses of the local program paper and its perceived adequacies or inadequacies. (Author Modified Abstract)
