The Measurement of the Inertial Properties of Routinely Installed Naval Shore Based Equipment.

Abstract

The problem of measuring the mass properties of small shore based equipment is discussed. Equipment designed and tested for center of gravity and moment of inertia measurement is described. Typical results of actual measurements are presented. The trifilar pendulum method of moment of inertia measurement is analyzed indetail. A theoretical error analysis is presented and substantiated with experimental results. (Author)
