BOMPEN: A Bomber Penetration Model.

Abstract

The report provides a detailed description of a bomber penetration model. This running research model, designated as the Bomber Penetration Model (BOMPEN), evaluates bomber penetration probabilities for a group of bombers attempting to penetrate through a corridor defended by a group of fighter-interceptor aircraft. This analytical model assumes that the underlying stochastic process representing the number of intercepts possible in a time interval following a bomber detection is a non-homogeneous Poisson process. Chapter 2 of this document presents a brief summary description of the model, while Chapter 3 provides a detailed mathematical description of the model. (Author Modified Abstract)
