Air Pollutant Emissions from JP-4 Fires Used in Fire Fighting Training.
Abstract
Sampling was conducted at the Fire Training Facility at Treasure Island Naval Station to determine emission factors applicable to the JP-4 fires used in Air Force Fire Training exercises. Sampling methods and data analysis is shown. Total pollutant emissions are nearly a half pound for every pound of fuel consumed, with particulates and carbon monoxide constituting the predominant mass fraction. (Author)
