An Interactive Image Processing System: Design and Language Description,

Abstract

Computer processing of images has evolved over the last decade from the use of specialized machines that accomplish single tasks to the use of sophisticated general computer systems. During this evolution, emphasis has been placed on performance of requisite tasks; little attention has been paid to ease and flexibility of system use. To correct this deficiency, SDC is developing an image processing system that provides a natural and flexible environment for the performance of experimentation and process design. This document describes the language and other characteristics of this system. (Author)
