A Statistical Theory of Reverberation and Similar First Order Scattered Fields (A). Supplementary Remarks: Focussing Effects with a Velocity Gradient (Aa). Probability Models of Received Scattered and Ambient Fields (B). Supplement (Ba).

Abstract

Eariler work of the author (1967) on reverberation and scattering is extended to include absorption, multiple reflection, and non-zero velocity gradients. The results are extended and modified to include the focusing effects of a velocity gradient. The focusing factor, (beta sub Q) is derived in detail for conventional ray tracing and outlined for caustics and foci. Explicit first-order probability models are constructed for mixed gauss and poison processes, including various moments of scattered (and ambient) fields. The supplement updates some of the results therein, indicating improved analytical models. (Author Modified Abstract)
