Automated Respiratory Gas Analyzer.
Abstract
The equipment consists of a mass spectrometer with several accessories, namely a bloodgas inlet, a respiratory inlet and an ion pump. The purpose of this equipment is to conduct research in defining respiratory and microcirculatory defects in individuals following combat trauma. The failure or impairment of the respiratory system can have subsequent catastrophic effects in reducing tissue oxygenation and in causing circulatory failure.
