Development of Cushioning Data for Fast Pack Program.

Abstract

The Star pack design of Fast Pack containers currently being used in the Air Force Fast Pack program will provide the packaging requirements for numerous items requiring protection from shock and vibration. To insure the effective use of these Star pack containers, dynamic cushioning data is required for effective and efficient selection of the optimum container. The purpose of the study is to develop dynamic cushioning curves for the six different sizes of Star packs currently being used in the Fast Pack program. As a result of this study, dynamic cushioning curves are presented for the 6 inch x 6 inch x 10 inch, 8 inch x 8 inch x 12 inch, 10 inch x 10 inch x 10 inch, 12 inch x 12 inch x 12 inch, 12 inch x 12 inch x 18 inch and 14 inch x 14 inch x 14 inch Star pack containers.
