Aircraft External Fuel Tank Crate Report,

Abstract

The report provides a status of work conducted to develop a new crate design for shipment and storage of external aircraft fuel tanks. The presently used wooden crate has proven unsatisfactory for storing and shipping assembled fuel tanks. Efforts to improve the wooden crate over the past twenty years have had limited success. The design and test of an improved fuel tank crate with a much longer life cycle capability has been completed. (Author)
