The Oxygen-16 Plus Neutron System in a Unified Theory Formalism.

Abstract

A collective model unified theory is developed and it is shown to be equivalent to Feshbach's unified theory when a unit-step operator is used for the channel projector. Application is made to the oxygen-16 plus neutron system. Calculations of the oxygen-17 level structure and cross section and of the angular distributions and polarization of neutron scattering by oxygen-16 are presented. (Author)
