Improved Wideband Scattering Analysis.

Abstract

(*RADAR TARGETS, SPECTRUM SIGNATURES), BROADBAND, RESPONSE, POLARIZATION, SATELLITES(ARTIFICIAL)An analytical investigation was directed toward extending the frequency-domain theoretical techniques for the accurate derivation of transient backscattered signatures from selected satellite objects. High-frequency asymptotic methods were applied in the formulation of the scattered returns from five targets, and the corresponding short pulse signatures were ascertained by transforming the target frequency response weighted by the effective transmitted pulse spectrum. The computed results were compared both qualitatively and quantitatively with a large volume of measured model-range data, and the agreement was generally good. (Author Modified Abstract)
