A Note on Wave-Wave Coupling in Nonresonant Unstable Systems,

Abstract

The power series expansion of the dielectric function that is employed in deriving the equations for wave-wave coupling often diverges if the wave-particle interactions are non-resonant. This difficulty can be eliminated by expanding in terms of the complex eigen modes of the linear system. These ideas are illustrated for a cold beam - cold plasma system. (Author)
