The Wear of Blade Hydraulic Machines from Cavitation and Deposits,

Abstract

The forms and character of wear of hydraulic turbines, axial and centrifugal pumps due to abrasion by suspended accretions and cavitation are analyzed. The conditions in which cavitation arises and the mechanism of cavitation erosion are examined. A theory of interaction between deposits and working surfaces of hydraulic machines is presented. A complex of measures is given to protect hydraulic machines from cavitation erosion and suspended deposits. (Author Modified Abstract)
