Analysis of a Pulsing Wall Jet.

Abstract

An analysis is presented of the mixing characteristics of steady and intermittent blowing when applied for boundary layer control. The analysis considers blowing tangent to the surface of a flap at deflection angles of 0 deg and 40 deg. It is shown that, relative to the steady jet, mixing with the external stream is increased considerably for the intermittent jet. (Author)
