Infrared Mapping of Large Forest Fires,

Abstract

Aerial studies on finding and mapping large-scale forest fires by the IR photography method were conducted in the summer of 1970 in Siberia. In studying the possibilities of using IR technology to discover forest fires from an aircraft IR photographs were made of forest fires which were entirely or partially hidden by a thick smoke screen.
