Design Study of a Wave Generator for the Hydroballistics Facility.

Abstract

The report comprises a theoretical and experimental study of the problem of wave generation by means of a plunger type wave maker. The information is then used in a preliminary design study for the Hydroballistics Facility. The proposed configuration is designed to be capable of generating both standing and progressive regular waves corresponding to a 1/3 scale state 5 sea. Considerations of building constraints within the existing facility are also incorporated in the design analysis. (Author)
