Project BAND (Bottom Ambient Noise Directivity). Phase I. Design and Preliminary Feasibility Tests

Abstract

The report describes the design of a recoverable acoustic array which measures the anisotropy of the ambient noise in the deep ocean. The system consists of a straight line array of 29 hydrophones, an electronic processing and recording system, and a submerged recovery buoy with acoustic command recall.
