DLI-IBM Joint Feasibility Study in Computer-Assisted Foreign Language Instruction.

Abstract

An evaluation was made of the educational effectiveness and operational practicality of CAI in a government language school. The instructional programming system was studied as a prototype technology; The students trained by CAI appeared to learn about as well as students in the normal AC course. CAI measures of student learning were evaluated as reliable predictors of performance of trainees on DLI tests.
