Development of Capital Stock Series by Industry Sector.
Abstract
This report describes the development of annual measures of capital stocks of plant and equipment for detailed private sectors in the economy for the period 1947-1966. The stocks measures were derived by the perpetual inventory method. The stock measures are available for approximately 170 industry sectors, including three-digit SIC detail for manufacturing industries and one- or two-digit detail for nonmanufacturing industries. Stocks are valued in both historical dollars (original cost) and constant 1958 dollars.
