Airborne European RF Measurements in the 100-500 MHz Band

Abstract

The report contains a description of an airborne RF measurement project. Included is a discussion of the hardware used to obtain the measurements, a description of the computer algorithms used to control an automatic spectrum analyzer, a description of the basic raw data and a presentation of the results. The measurements were taken over West Germany and France in the 100 to 500 MHz band. The automatic spectrum analyzer was mounted in a KC-135 aircraft, and a log-periodic antenna was mounted under the nose of the plane. The measurements were taken during April, May, and June 1972, and a complete schedule is contained in the report.
