Survival of Data for On-Line Data Acquisition Systems,
Abstract
The report presents a technique for insuring survival of data input to on-line data acquisition systems. The primary design criteria leading to the technique are discussed. The technique utilizes a logging mechanism for recording changes to files that are critical to such on-line application systems. Data to be logged is transferred to a stand-alone log run via the FMS-8 core-to-core executive requests. Recovery of on-line files is simply a matter of reconstruction from entries on the log file.
