An Adaptive Speech Synthesizer.

Abstract

An adaptive speech synthesizer is discussed, the work 'adaptive' indicating that no one vocabulary, set of words, or natural language is preferred over another for speech synthesis. The speech synthesizer is designed to exhibit the following properties: intelligibility and naturalness of synthesized speech; independence of natural language or vocabulary (adaptiveness); capability of continuous speech; small memory requirements and simplicity of operation (economic and small size realization).
