Determination of the Thermophysical Properties of Compressed Gaseous and Liquid Fluorine,

Abstract

Since March 1967, the Properties of Cryogenic Fluids Section, NBS Cryogenics Division, under sponsorship of the Air Force Rocket Propulsion Laboratory, Edwards, California, has been engaged in a comprehensive effort to generate thermophysical properties data on fluorine through precision measurements and computational programs. This effort was divided into three basic phases: Testing of materials, construction of apparatus and modification of existing equipment for compatibility with fluorine; Experimental measurements; and Computation of derived thermodynamic and transport properties from the data. The purpose of the report is to summarize this work and to bring together under a single cover the results of these programs. (Author)
