Determination of D-Region Electron-Density Distributions from Radio Propagation Data.

Abstract

A linear method of profile inversion for deducing electron-density distributions is described along with an error analysis to assess accuracy of the resulting distributions. Examples are given of use with both steep-incidence and long-path types of data. Techniques of using elf sferics data are discussed. Appropriate background material is also given. (Author)
