Coarse-Grained Sedimentation on a Braided Outwash Fan, Northeast Gulf of Alaska.

Abstract

The paper describes the morphology, sediments, and sedimentary structures of the coarse-grained portion of a braided outwash fan, interprets processes of deposition, and gives criteria for recognition of similar sediments in the rock record. The specific subject area is the Scott Glacier outwash fan, located in the Copper River Delta area of the northeastern Gulf of Alaska.
