Electrocardiogram Scanner-System Requirements.

Abstract

An experimental and analytical study has been conducted to establish the feasibility for scanning and digitizing electrocardiogram records. The technical requirements and relative costs for two systems are discussed herein. One is designed to automate the analysis of current electrocardiograms submitted in accordance with the FAA Aeromedical certification regulations. The other is designed for retrieval and scanning of the FAA file of microfilmed electrocardiogram records. A cost-benefit analysis of the two systems is also presented. (Author)
