A Couple-Stress Theory for Laminated Media.

Abstract

A derivation of a couple-stress theory for a laminated medium is developed in detail. Simple thickness modes are used to show the relationship of the theory to a corresponding effective modulus theory. Simple wave propagation problems are used to show when the new theory is dispersive in nature. (Author-PL)
