Committee on Conservation of Nonhuman Primates, Annual Report, July 1, 1971-June 30, 1972.

Abstract

Organization of research programs in South America proceeded along two fronts during the year. In Colombia, the government agency I.N.D.E.R.E.N.A. is instigating surveys of primates, particularly in the northern part of the country. A conference on the Distribution and Abundance of Neotropical Primates is organized to be held at the Battelle Conference Center in Seattle, Washington in mid-August. It will be comprised of papers from people who have worked on New World monkeys recently in the wild. The Committee met twice during the year. Three publications on censusing and the trade in New World monkeys resulted directly from the activities of the committee. (Author)
