A Review of Computer Systems Simulation.

Abstract

A review of computer systems simulation is presented. Existing simulation languages and programs are described and recommendations are made about the desirable characteristics of a simulator. Attenuation is primarily focused upon those simulators that may be used to study time-sharing, multi-programming, and multiprocessing systems. SCERT appears to be the most widely used evaluation tool while CSS and LOMSS 2 seem most promising as a system simulator. (Author)
