Phase III, Project Gulf Q, A Characterization of Maritime Cumulus Clouds.

Abstract

Phase III of Project Gulf Q was conducted from 24 May through 18 June 1971 at Brownsville, Texas. The primary objectives were to (1) characterize warm cumulus clouds and the meteorological conditions which cause them to form, (2) gather data for use in developing warm cumulus computer simulation models, and (3) document the effects of modifying warm cumulus clouds with hydrophilic and hydrophobic powders.
