Effective Dry Methods of Separating Thermoplastic Films from Wastepapers.

Abstract

Two effective methods have been developed. The first, heated cylinder method, utilizes the principle of thermoplastic films adhering to a heated surface. The second, specific surface reduction method, con-sists of suspending the mixtures of wastepapers and thermoplastic films in a hot gas to contract the thermoplastic films upon themselves followed by air classification and/or screening. Both methods are practical and the second can be used immediately with equipment presently available on the market. (Author-PL)
