Economic and Engineering Analysis for Delivery of Refined Petroleum Products.

Abstract

The report considers the economics of providing petroleum products to Northeastern U.S. consumers using various alternatives of refinery location through the year 2000. Specifically the report requires: A review of existing data on processing capacities and physical plant characteristics of existing Northeast and Gulf Coast refineries; A survey of Northeast Coast refineries to include the existing and long range expansion possibilities and limitations; A determination of basic cost data; A projection of technological changes; A projection of environmental controls; and, A consideration of the cost of transporting via pipeline refined products from Gulf Coast sites.
