Lubricant for the Impregnation of Organic Cores of Steel Cables,

Abstract

The Russian patent concerns a lubricant for the impregnation of organic cores of steel cables on a base of copper naphthenate and ozokerite. The patent presents a new formulation to expand the operating temperature range and increase the microbiological resistance of the lubricant. Its composition includes 10-20% copper naphthenate, 10-18% ozokerite, polyethylsiloxane liquid, mineral oil, and sulfurated mineral oil. To improve the viscosity-temperature properties, its composition also includes a polymer, vinyl-n-butyl ether, with a molecular weight of 9000-12,000 in a quantity of 8-15% of the weight of the lubricant.
