DV-42A Modernized Self-Propelled Roller,

Abstract

The DU-42A roller is intended for the final pressing of roadway bases and surfaces of various road building materials. The basis units of the roller are: the frame, the power unit, the hydrostatic transmission, the two revolving sectional rollers with individual drives for each section, the control mechanisms, devices for cleaning and sprinkling rollers and electric equipment. The frame is welded out of sheet steel and is of volume construction inside which spaces are provided for lubricating liquid and for instrument storage. The power unit consists of the SMD-14 Diesel with a starter engine and electric starter, placed in the central part of the frame on rubber shock absorbers. To the crankcase of the engine flywheel is fixed the housing of the axial-piston pump of the transmission with the hydraulic amplifier built in.
