Determination of Effectiveness of Aerosol Particle Washout by Water Drops,

Abstract

The study of the process of capture of solid aerosol particles by drops is of interest in meteorology and technology. As a result of the collision of falling raindrops against solid dust particles suspended in air, these particles are washed out of the earth's atmosphere. Water spraying by jets is used in mines and pits for cleaning dust particles out of the air. Operation of spraying absorption towers is based on the process of capture of solid aerosol particles by liquid drops. This work was carried out with the aim of determining the effectiveness of solid aerosol particle washout by water drops at low Reynolds numbers Re = 1-40.
