Ultrastructural Cognates of Mammalian Freeze-Thaw Survival Curves in vitro.

Abstract

The author has defined patterns of cellular injury and repair following exposure of the L5178y Murine Lymphoblasts to 4C. Anatomic studies uncovered severe injury at variance with minimal damage defined by growth and/or survival curves. Additional studies included monolayer cultures of normal and galactosemic human fibroblasts and differentiated gastric mucosal cells. Studies on mitochondrial enzyme localization and damaged mitochondrial functional reconstitution are also reported. (Author)
