Carbon Monoxide Laser

Abstract

The report describes the development of a 20 liter cooled CO laser designed for pulsed operation with pressures up to 1 atmosphere. An electron beam sustained discharge is used for the gas excitation. Pulsed output energies up to 1 kilojoule have been observed and the results are compared with the theoretical predictions based on a kinetic model for the CO laser.
